Now let's consider another possible shape for the population.

  • Press the radio button for Pop 2.

(i) Place a screen capture of the second population in your report. Describe the shape of this second population.

 

Now follow the remaining instructions in the applet below:

(j) In the second column of the table in your report, paste the screen capture of the null distribution, and state the shape, mean, and standard deviation for your simulated null distribution of sample means from this new population. Also report the new approximate p-value.

 

(k) Did the assumed shape of the population distribution of sleep times make a substantial difference in the null distribution of the sample means (shape, center, spread) - support your answer.  Include whether you think the normal model is still valid for this second null distribution.

 

(l) Did the population shape make a substantial difference in our estimate of the p-value?
