Population Model
Let the population of interest be all Cal Poly students and assume for now we have a representative sample (you'll critique this assumption at the end of the analysis).
(c) Do we know the value of the population mean amount of sleep on a typical Sunday night for all Cal Poly students? What symbol can we use to represent its value?
Our research conjecture is that Cal Poly students average less than 8 hours of sleep a night.
(d) Translate the research conjecture into null and alternative hypothesis statements (using symbols and numbers only). (Hint: Make sure to use the appropriate symbol for the population mean.)
(e) Write a one-sentence definition of your parameter from Ho and Ha in the context of this study.
