Lab 0 ~ Monty Hall
Lab 0: The Monty Hall Problem

Objectives:

  • Learn a basic interpretation of the term probability.
  • Become familiar with some of the technology we will use throughout the course.
  • To use simulation to investigate the underlying properties of a random process.

Working with a partner, carefully follow the online instructions in these lab webpages. A Word document is provided here, in which you may record your answers to the lab questions as you proceed. Save this file to the desktop, renaming it, and put both lab partners' names in the file. The Word document provides some of the online instructions, but not all. Please be careful to always refer to the online web pages for content and next steps.

Note: When you open the Word file, you will probably have to "Enable Editing" - look for a yellow warning bar across the top.

The Lab Report should be uploaded in PolyLearn by the beginning of class, Thursday, Sept. 24. (Just one of you needs to submit the report. Make sure both of your names are inside the report.)

It is recommended that you use Chrome for viewing these instruction pages. When you run the applet later, you may get an error message but you should be able to click OK and proceed.
